ART - Accelerated Resolution Therapy
Developed in 2008 by Laney Rosenzwieg, LMFT, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is an evidenced-based approach that uses calming eye movements and metaphors to replace distressful images, intrusive memories, smells, nightmares, scenes or “movies” associated with traumatic events and phobias. Most often, clients report life-changing improvements from ART after only one session.
There is growing evidence that Accelerated Resolution Therapy can be used to successfully treat mental health issues beyond PTSD and phobias. In her work at Bardwell Behavioral, Rebekah has successfully treated folks with phobias, PTSD, trauma, nightmares, intrusive thoughts, excessive worry, and eating disorders. The thing most people like most about ART, aside from the immediate positive effects experienced by most client, is that one does not have to share any details about their traumatic experience(s) verbally with their clinician. The client is fully in charge throughout the process, with the clinician’s role being that of a supportive and creative guide.
