Barbara Jean-Louis

THERAPIST

Barbara is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA) currently working towards her LPC. She has clinical experience spanning outpatient psychotherapy, acute inpatient psychiatric care, and community behavioral health settings. She earned her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from University of Bridgeport.

Barbara believes that healing begins when clients feel truly seen, safe, and connected. Her practice focuses on supporting adults and adolescents navigating life transitions, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, neurodivergent care, women’s issues, multicultural identity and adjustment, eating disorders, and affective disorders.

Sessions with Barbara are warm, conversational, and grounded in empathy, curiosity, and mindfulness. She integrates evidence-based practices, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), body awareness, and person-centered approaches, to help clients regulate emotions, move through challenges with self-compassion, and build tools for everyday life. Her goal is to meet clients where they are and empower them with the self-trust and awareness to navigate change at their own pace.

Outside of the therapy room, Barbara enjoys immersing herself in literature, spending quiet time in nature, exploring gardening, meditation, relaxing by the beach, and attending classical music shows.
